Radon Gas
The US Surgeon General has warned that radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking. The EPA recommends testing all homes for radon gas. Testing is inexpensive, and in most cases, if an elevated level of radon is found, a radon remediation system will drop the level to an acceptable level ( under 4pCi/L) at a reasonable cost.
Wood Destroying Insects- In Northern New Jersey, it is not uncommon to have termite , carpenter ant, or carpenter bee problems which are often concealed or hidden because of their secretive nature and the dark wet areas they prefer. We can easily do a complete inspection for WDI when we are conducting our home inspection and present you with the WDI Report many lenders require.
Mold
Indoor mold can be a health issue for mold sensitive individuals.
If any mold –like substances are encountered during your home inspection, with your approval, we can test to positively identify if the suspected mold really is mold and to try and identify the species.
In many cases curing a mold problem is as easy as washing or cutting out the affected area, but many times since it is still the sellers house, it pays to establish that there is a mold affected area and to have the seller fix the moisture or plumbing problem that has caused it and for them to be responsible for its removal.
EDR Neighborhood Environmental Report
